MEF Welcomes Telecom Software Vendor Cataworx as the first Startup to Showcase their Innovative Pre-Sales Enablement Platform At MEF17Brian Hedstrom
Boulder, CO — Cataworx announced today their participation in MEF’s 4th annual global networking event, MEF17, during 13-16 November 2017 in Orlando, Florida, USA. Cataworx will be the first technology software startup vendor to attend MEF17 since the MEF introduced a new Start-Up Company Station Sponsorship this year.
Cataworx was founded on the principles of helping Service Providers automate service lifecycle stages using software automation and integrations via Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Cataworx aims to redefine how communications service providers buy and sell wholesale services.
“We are honored to be included as part of the MEF community and a solution component of MEF’s Lifecycle Service Orchestration technology evolution. LSO aims at automating the entire lifecycle of connectivity services,” said Brian Hedstrom, Co-Founder and CEO. “Cataworx is focused on the Operator-to-Operator Sonata east-west interface for wholesale pre-sales business process automation.” Brian has been a key leader in the MEF for over 8 years authoring and contributing to many MEF technical specifications, Information and Data Models, including leading the development of the first MEF Service Operations specification which defines the lifecycle of MEF services.
“My intimate experience with LSO, including running MEF LSO Hackathons, demonstrated to me that MEF has taken a comprehensive approach to solving the connectivity service end-to-end orchestration problem, including the critical business-to-business integration channel.” said Adolfo Perez-Duran, Cataworx Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer. “It is a privilege to be one of the first startups to contribute to the MEF ecosystem. Our contributions to Sonata interface efforts coupled with our startup mindset will bring a unique perspective to the MEF community.” Adolfo has held positions as Lead Architect at Lucent/Bell Labs and as Software Programs Lead for MEF. Adolfo is also committed to innovation in the open source community. He chaired the Intent NBI Work Group at the Open Networking Foundation and is a committer to OpenDaylight’s Energy Management project.
Cataworx was recently recognized as one of the top 3 graduating companies from the Founders Institute, the world’s premier idea stage accelerator. Cataworx will be demonstrating their Carrier Ethernet Wholesale Pre-sales Enablement Platform at MEF17.
Cataworx Product Modeler — the first component to be released as part of the Cataworx Platform — provides a simplified approach to defining Carrier Ethernet wholesale services based on MEF industry standards. The Modeler produces common, standards-based product specifications which provide the common language operators have been waiting for in the Request For Proposals (RFP) and sales process.
Cataworx Product Catalog provides a collaborative, easy-to-use, intent-based product search and quote experience across wholesale partners and customers. The Catalog includes an analytics engine enabling data-driven insights on catalog and quote partner interactions. Through our standard API-based integration, quotes can be generated in seconds across multiple wholesale partner operators.
